MANAGING MEMBER

Alana Martell is a renewable energy veteran with twenty years of experience. She became a Managing Member of SunRay in January 2019, having served as General Counsel of SunRay from 2012 to 2016. Prior to re-joining SunRay, Ms. Martell served as the General Counsel of a solar developer and an environmental products hedge fund, as well as senior counsel at PSEG Long Island. 

She began her career as a corporate attorney focusing on mergers and acquisitions and other corporate legal matters at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld and Torys LLP. She is a licensed attorney in New York State, received a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania, cum laude and with honors.

MANAGING MEMBER

Gemma Segal has been an integral part of SunRay since its inception, working her way up from intern to Managing Member of the company.  She has over thirteen years of experience in the solar industry, financing, developing, constructing, managing, and overseeing SunRay’s project portfolios and exit opportunities. 

She has secured solar project awards in California and New York as well as government grants totaling over $60 million. Prior to joining SunRay, Gemma interned at RNK Capital, an international investment firm that invests in assets in environmental and emissions markets worldwide. Ms. Segal received a degree in Environmental Geosciences from the University of Bristol, U.K., graduating fifth in her class with honors.

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Edmund Towers has been the Chief Financial Officer of Sunray since 2014. He created the current financial infrastructure for the projects owned and operated by Sunray. He has decades of experience in financial accounting and auditing. He has served previously as CFO of Daiwa Securities America Inc., Rochdale Investment Management LLC and RNK Capital LLC guiding these organizations through periods of growth. He also worked in public accounting for six years.

Mr. Towers’ expertise includes financial management and analysis, bank reporting and investor relations. He is a Certified Public Accountant in New York State and a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He graduated magna cum laude from St Francis College with a B.S. in Accounting.
